It was a very nice day. I was very fit in the early
morning because I went to bed early yesterday. Today
was and is still Maha Shivaratri, the day on which
we celebrate the love of Shiva and Parvati. We have
a fast with special food which is also delicious and
actually you nearly eat more than on a normal day
without fasting. This day has a very good energy for
a lot of rituals and tantric rituals in particular.
Tantra is also one word which is being misused very
much and I will explain the original meaning some
other day. We had a Pooja ceremony and a fire
ceremony in our garden. It was a fantastic energy
and as we had many requests from people all over the
world for this ceremony we provided a representative
for each of them. These representatives said the
Mantras and prayers for them. It was just a
wonderful atmosphere. I said this day is for
worshipping Shiva and Parvati. Shiva also stands for
vishwas, the trust and Parvati for shraddha, respect
without conditions. Vishwas actually means blind
trust. When you do not have to open your eyes to
check what the other one is doing or to test him.
You can keep your eyes closed knowing that he will
not harm you in any way. Blind trust is often seen
in a negative light but please see that actually
this is something very positive and wonderful. Of
course I believe that somebody can try to take
advantage from blind trust and misuse this trust
which is then called naivety. Be aware of that
before you trust someone. However when you have
trust in someone, it has to be blind trust. Either
you trust or you don't. There is nothing in between,
it is always hundred percent. You cannot say that
you trust someone a little bit. Many people,
especially in the West, believe that they can trust
a little bit which creates confusion, disappointment
and can easily lead to mental problems. There is no
trust. I already said that many times. Vishwas is
the trust without conditions that has to come back
into our lives. Shraddas is the respect which should
also be without conditions. In this special night we
want to do this and do a little bit more: Bring
Shiva and Parvati, vishwas and shraddha, trust and
respect without conditions together. Please let them
meet. When they are combined in your life, when they
are accepted together in your consciousness, you
have made a big step on the path of love.
