Stayed at the Ashram in August 2008

I just spent the month of August volunteering for a non-governmental organization in Vrindavan. I had seen the Jai Siyaram website before my arrival and wanted to visit, even though my organization already arranged for my accommodation elsewhere. I practice hatha yoga every morning, so I was particularly interested in joining any classes that the ashram may have been holding.

I did not make it to visit the ashram until about 2/3 of my stay in Vrindavan was over. However, once I visited the ashram I left my pre-arranged accommodations and stayed at Shree Bindu Sewa Sansthan until my return to the U.S.!

Swami-ji and Yashendu were in Germany and I was the only guest. I was able to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and energy of the ashram while being taken care of in absolutely every respect by Purnendu and the ashram family and staff.

The beautiful ashram gardens were a constant source of inspiration, and it was uplifting to see the constant care given to the plants and trees by Goswami Sri Balak Ram Sharan and his gardening crew. Evening strolls through this small bit of paradise were especially wonderful after a long, hot day!

I was able to observe the goings-on of the school daily food distribution. I was also invited to help the ashram in its charitable act of distributing food to those affected by the rising waters of the Yamuna in Vrindavan.

The accommodations and food were wonderful, my every need was anticipated and catered to, and it was all permeated by a wonderful sense of love. There were no yoga classes since I was the lone guest, but that didn't stop me from having my own sumptuous private practice every morning!

This was really a wonderful introduction to the work that goes on at Shree Bindu Sewa Sansthan. I am now very excited to both deepen my knowledge of the spiritual and charitable initiatives taken up here and deepen my friendships with the Jai Siyaram family.

I would recommend Shree Bindu Sewa Sansthan to anyone wishing to visit India, Swami-ji or both! You may not be so lucky as to get all of the attention I received as an only guest, but I guarantee that you will feel completely welcome and well-cared for.
