Ganesha

One day, while her husband Shiva was not at home, Parvati wanted to take a bath. So she formed a man from earth and water from the

Ganges

and gave life to it. She told this young man to stand in front of her bathroom and not to let anyone in. Unfortunately her husband, Lord Shiva returned early and found a stranger in front of his wife’s door. When this man told him he could not enter the bathroom, Shiva got angry and in his anger he cut off the head of the man. Parvati saw what he had done she cried so much over the loss of her son that Shiva decided that the first being coming by had to give its head for his son. And this is how Ganesha got the head of an elephant.
