Hello

I hope you have arrived back at the Ashram safe and sound :o)

Reading your journal entry last night you asked for comments on this newspaper article and society.  The reality is society is a direct reflection of how sick the human mind has become.  We have placed so much "wealth" on our young, we have taken God out of our classrooms, our focus in the west is fame and material accumulation.  What can I do to get more attention to fill the void?  Is the unconscious question most young people are asking themselves.  The Christian belief system which is the biggest religion of the west needed to come out of the classrooms, I agree, it segregated kids and made those of us who were not catholic feel that somehow we were inferior.  I don't think any religion is the anwser but I have been talking more and more with people here across Canada about how fantastic it would be to have meditation (in particular) and even Yoga taught in our school system but there is so much fear surrounding the "unknown" and these "new age" modalities.  This young girl in the article is getting what she thought she wanted...attention.  How sick of a culture do we have that this is something that sells newspapers?  And worse most people who read it will send their negitive opions and judgements to this girl, this child who is obviously lost and simply looking to find and be loved, which is our destiny no, is now having her story plastered all over the news.  Sending her love and compassion will come from people like us but the average person will send anger, disgust, sympathy...all energies that will not help her to connect, it can infact push her further into her fear.  People need to fill their hearts and their minds with love not stories about how "pathetic" others lives are, which in turn only feeds our ego not our soul.

Ok I've ranted, thats my two cents :o)
So much love to you all, see you in a few weeks!!!
