For a long time I wanted to write an article or more ‘FAQs’ for our website and there is just never the right time. Or not the right mood. There are quite a few things that I would like to share, about Swami Ji, his family, the Ashram and most of all about the children at the school and the Kindergarten. And this is how I thought today that I could write a blog for the children.
I don’t know how regularly I will write, but there are always a few things which I would like to tell about – even if it is just quickly written without much thinking
:)
And here is why I came up with this idea today: Today I got to know from Purnendu how many new admissions we have for the next school year: 45 children from the poorest families will go to school for the first time next year! This adds to the (approximately) 83 children which we had at the end of this school year.
These numbers may seem big to some people and small to others. For me it is an enourmous amount because when we left India on the 21st April there were only seven new children whose parents wanted them to learn reading and writing. But whether it is seven or 45, it just makes me happy that they are there.
I never thought that I could be so proud of these children who come each day in their blue and yellow uniforms, laughing, playing and enjoying. They come from houses without electricity or water and most of their parents only can sign by fingerprint. And after only one year at the school they wrote birthday cards for me! I was sitting with them in their classroom and together with them learned to write the Hindi alphabet. I want to put my experience and feelings for these children into words and think that maybe with this blog I can bring you closer to these wonderful children!
Each of them is a great child and I am happy that we and so many friends and helpers can give support them and their future! I wish that also these 45 new children will have a wonderful time at this beautiful school!
