Dandasana, Staff Pose, Stick Pose
Sit on your yoga mat with your legs stretched out in front of you. The knees are straight and the feet together. Straighten your spine and back but relax your shoulders.
Dandasana is the initial pose for many forward bending and other sitting poses.
With the practice of this yoga pose you get used to keeping your back straight which when walking gives you a healthy posture.
This easy sitting posture also stimulates digestion and gives a nice stretch to your leg muscles.
If you have difficulties keeping your back straight, you can put a small cushion or a rolled-up towel under your buttocks.
