Why are holy religious scriptures full of violence and blood?
SourceWe need hope to go on living in bad situations and there is always reason to hope. But don’t create illusions - disappointment will be even worse! Giving someone wrong hope can shatter their dreams very suddenly.
SourceCriminals and people who do wrong live in fear of the consequences of their actions. Religion gives them a good way to find forgiveness. You only need to go to the temple regularly, tell a priest about what you have on your mind, pay some money, say some prayers and you are forgiven. Then you can go out to do the next crime.
SourceThe scriptures of any religion, culture or country can be written by very intelligent people of old times and we can see them as great literature but they should not be taught to children as ideals of how to behave though. They are fiction and many of them are full of blood and violence, creating an illusion for children that this behavior could be religious and good.
