Christmas celebration in India

This is a wonderful time. I don’t know how to describe it but since yesterday I have said many times to everybody: ‘fun, fun and fun!’ I never enjoyed Christmas in this way before. We had so much fun with so many people.

I already wrote the report of the morning program yesterday and in the evening there were only the Ashram family, the school teachers, the boys and the staff of the Ashram, our friends from Switzerland Christina and Roland and my old friends Manish and Sunil with whom I have been to school. Manish came with his wife and son and of course Kanu, Suraj and Krishna were there to celebrate, too.

Altogether we were about 50 people. Roland and Christina sang Christmas songs and Ramona told the Christmas story in Hindi for the boys in the Ashram who didn’t know it yet. We also played a game running around chairs. Babbaji, who looked like Santa Claus in a red dress and a hat, started distributing presents to everybody. It was wonderful to see the joy in the faces when a present was opened. Everybody was happy with his gift, there were many different things, something different for everyone.

When the presents were unpacked we started a dance party and enjoyed the time together a little bit more before going to bed. This morning everybody had a Christmas fun hangover. You can see how we celebrated in the pictures in our photo gallery.

Words of Wisdom

  • Happiness

Love what you do and you will spend most time of your life being happy!

    Source
  • Relationship

The key for a successful relationship is to allow your partner to express his feelings the way he wants. Love is not about owning and controling. Give this freedom to the one you love.

    Source
  • Nature

Take care to be in harmony with nature. Enjoy nature and be thankful for it. With thankfulness the respect for nature will become your basic attitude and then you will never have the idea to leave your garbage somewhere in a forest or pollute a river. Being in harmony with nature can make you happy.

  • Relationship

Don’t bring business talk everywhere. Stop it, at the latest when you go into the bedroom. No business is allowed there anymore, just love and the relationship of you and your partner.

    Source
  • Religion

If you leave all religions and just surrender yourself to love, you will be free of the feelings of sin and guilt. Love will liberate you. Choose this path and you will be free from fear.

  • Relationship

Acceptance and respect are needed for keeping a relationship alive. Your perception of your partner must be clean of doubts. Nothing is bad or good, keep in mind that it is only your perception.

  • Scriptures

In Hinduism there is a word ‘Kanya Dan’, the donation of a girl from father to husband. Like a thing that can be passed on. In a wedding this ‘Kanya Dan’ is however the most important part of the marriage ceremony - and this is how religion degrades women.

  • Vegetarian

What does it mean if you say ‘I am not 100% vegetarian’, ‘I eat meat only when I go out’, or ‘I only eat fish’? It means you are not a vegetarian at all. You feel guilty about it. You are only eating, not killing, but someone killed for you.

  • Respect

If children have respect for their parents, it keeps them from doing very big mistakes which they could then not confess to their parents. Due to their respect they stop before.

  • Spiritual

If you live in love, you are spiritual.

  • Expectations

Don't expect more of yourself than your natural limits allow!

    Source
  • Presence

If nobody can know anyway what will happen on the next day, why should we worry about it? There will never be an answer! We will see what will happen and we will deal with whatever comes. The past is past and tomorrow will come. Live in the presence, today, now!
