Today a couple came from Switzerland. She has got a Mantra from me and she is practicing it. She will do 51000 repetitions and has finished 1000 already. It was her birthday today. It was a bit cold but they enjoyed it very much.
She talked with Andrea afterwards and when Andrea told her that tomorrow it is her birthday, the woman told that in her childhood she never really enjoyed celebrating her birthday. It is so close to Christmas and so her celebration and the Christmas celebration always got mixed up. Andrea also told that her birthday presents were mostly packed in Christmas wrapping paper which she did not like at all when she was a child. But today the woman was very happy that she could celebrate her birthday with us.
And tomorrow we will enjoy Andrea’s birthday. The family is preparing for Christmas, everyone is packing presents and we have put up the tree which now shines in nice light.

It would be sad to have the celebration of your birthday swallowed by a much larger worldwide holiday. One of my friends created an idea called "Birthday Season." Instead of your birthday just being one day, you celebrate your birth for the "season" surrounding your birthday. This could be 2 weeks, or 3 months. It doesn't have to be parties, gifts, and cake every day. It's a matter of feeling grateful for your life and excited to keep living every day! This is what birthdays should remind us of anyway.

My girlfriend's birthday is on Christmas eve, I am always sad that her birthday gets lost in the shuffle so I started surprising her some other time in the year with an unannounced birthday party. It is fun for me and I think they make her feel valued.
