It was a very funny day. In the morning Yashendu, Ramona and I started from Wiesbaden to go to Schwabmünchen. But things somehow happened in a strange way. We started with a taxi from Thomas’ and Iris’ home at half past seven to go to the train station. On the half way Yashendu suddenly remembered that we had forgotten his second knee brace which he has to wear after his operation. So we called Thomas and he could bring it to the place where we were waiting in the taxi.
Nevertheless we reached at the train station in time and could take the train to Stuttgart. Our ticket showed that there we should get out on platform 11 and then wait for the next train which was supposed to leave from the same platform half an hour later. So we took our entire luggage out and wanted to wait for the next train. But only a few minutes later we got to know that the same train that we had just come out of was supposed to go to Augsburg, too. It was the woman from the train who told us and she watched how we put our entire luggage back into the train and sat back down just where we had been before.
So this was the train to Augsburg and on the way from Stuttgart we saw that the more south we came the more snow was outside. Half an hour before we were supposed to reach Augsburg the train suddenly stopped. We were informed that the rails were blocked ahead due to an accident and that we would need to wait some time, maybe half an hour. After some time we were told that it would take longer and that there was the possibility to go back one stop with another train or to take a bus to another station. We decided however to stay in the train as we did not want to walk too much with our luggage and with Yashendu’s operated knee.
It took some time more until the voice from the loudspeaker told us that the train we were sitting in would also go back to the previous station where we were then supposed to change into another train. That should be the first train to start again in direction Augsburg.
We followed the advice and changed train. We found a nice place to sit and just after sitting down the announcement told the exhausted travellers in the train that it would be another delay of approximately two hours. We were laughing in our seats. They took us back after a long time and then we still had to wait that long! But one thing they did for their customers: they gave water, juice and warm drinks for free.
We were fine, sitting in a warm place and thought that we just needed to wait another two hours when the voice said that the rails were still blocked and we would have to wait for an uncertain amount of time. We also accepted this news in a relaxed way.
The next information however was that due to this long delay this train would not go anywhere anymore and we should get out of it. And then we were standing there, a lot of people on the platform, all waiting for a train. Fortunately another one came soon and when we got into this one (again finding a place for the suitcases and Yashendu’s leg) we were not surprised to hear that they did not know yet how long it would still take. In the meantime we had called Andrea several times to say her that we would come a bit later as she was waiting in Augsburg to pick us up.
It was a crazy journey but finally this train started moving. And it took us until Augsburg train station where we arrived, five hours later than planned. The last obstacle was that there was no elevator to be found at the main train station of this city. Also a bit crazy, but we managed it. And there we were welcomed by Andrea who had also spent a funny day driving in and out of Augsburg.
The journey was crazy but we had a good mood and Ramona kept on singing ‘Driving home for Christmas’. Now we are back here in Schwabmünchen and pretty tired but happy to be here with Andrea and Susi. Melly will also join us on Thursday.
Day before yesterday Roger called to tell me that they had a sad event in their family: his aunt died. Today was her funeral and Purnendu performed a ceremony for her soul at the Ashram. I find this a very nice ritual which also makes it easier for those who are around to manage the sadness in their hearts and to keep a lovely memory of the one who left.

SourceIt is your awareness of the moments. When you are hurrying, you are just focused on what you are doing, to do it as quick as possible and the moments go by without you noticing them.
