Truth is Only One - Listen to Your Inner Voice - 27 Mar 08

Ramona and I were talking about truth in the morning. Actually I had talk with Thomas about this, too, last night. There is only one truth. It is said in many scriptures, in the Bhagavat Gita and how Thomas told me also in the Bible you can find this expressed maybe a little bit in different words but the same essence: Truth is only one. There cannot be two. No religion will deny this. Every religion will agree on it that truth is only one.

Sometimes I hear this that people explain a conflict with the excuse that they have one truth and the other person has another truth. But I gave an example to Thomas on phone. I looked up to the stars and said: I see the moon here and if I show it to you, you will also see the moon. You will not see the sun and you will not tell me that this is the sun because the truth is that this is the moon. And the truth is like this. It cannot be different.

We also have an indicator for this inside us. This inner voice that tells us sometimes that someone is lying or cheating or what you should do. And we should stick to what this voice tells us. I said before that you should not think too much about what others think or might say about you. Then you will pretend to be someone else. Maybe you will try to prove that it is your truth and behave strangely although you know inside that the truth is something else. That you are truly someone else. So do not ignore your inner voice and do not live for others! Stop running away from the truth. There is only one truth.

I think there are different elements to truth. There is universal truth which is outside of the individual, for example, the moon is the moon. But every individual has his/her own truth within that cannot be changed or really shared with anyone. We can't really compare inner truths because even words don't quite express them the right way.

I don't know. Truth is a tough subject. The more I talk about it and think about it the less I know what people mean by truth, and also by love.

Truth is absolute. No matter how you look at it, the truth itself does not change.

I have had many discussions about truth, and yes most of them came at the height of my religiousness. But I don't think it is as simple as "truth is one." If there is one thing in the world you can force me to believe, and there is really only one thing, it is that truth is perspective. That is all I will concede to believing.

There is only one truth but not in the way the ego expects. The mind cannot wrap itself around truth. Many "religious" people whether or not they belong to a religion or call themselves agnostic or perhaps atheist, attempt to grasp with their minds the truth they experience. And so people argue over the one truth.

I love smiling and have the habit of laughing :)

  • Happiness

Many poor Indian people are happy and proud even with the little they have. Reduce your needs and learn to be happy with less, even in the abundance of the west.

  • Religion

There are places in this world where women are sold because religion says they are just like objects that a man possesses. Is religion really something you want to believe in?

  • Stress

Be relaxed and have fewer expectations on yourself. Look forward Even to things that are important. If you are anxious you will only exhaust yourself with stress which doesn't make anything better.

  • Honesty

People often say and do things that they don’t believe in. How long can you play such a drama? You have to live in your original consciousness.

  • Religion

Human worship in any religion and culture is always wrong.

  • God

I don’t have any experience of God and the experience of others cannot help me. It does not make me believe in God if I read that Jesus talked to God, Mohammed experienced God or Tulsi or Surdas felt God. It even does not help me if my best friend tells me he has lots of experiences with God – as long as I have not had any, I cannot say that I believe in God!

  • Money

Money does not make people rich or poor. Someone who has 1000 Dollars seems rich to someone who only has 100 Dollars whereas he seems poor to a millionaire. Numbers don’t make you rich. Some millionaires whom I consider poor and I have seen people who don’t have money but who, to me, are very rich people because of their big heart and generosity.

  • Religion

God lives in the heart and can come wherever you want. Temples and religious buildings are the centers of the business of religion where they see religious people as cows and milk them for money and donations, even by selling tickets. The more money you have, the quicker you can see God and the more blessings you get.
